Challenge
(01)
Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) was formed in January 2025 through the merger of the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit and the Brant County Health Unit. Haft2 was selected to develop the new brand positioning, visual identity, brand language, and UI/UX website design for the newly unified organization.
/
Process
(02)
Haft2 engaged staff, partners, and community voices to shape a clear direction for the new brand.
The brand positioning was developed through a collaborative process that engaged both internal and external stakeholders. Based on the approved positioning, Haft2 created a new visual identity and brand language that reflected GEPH’s role in protecting and promoting community health.
Inspired by the Grand River, the identity captures the natural movement and connection of water. A shield anchors the mark, symbolizing protection, safety, and trust. Within the shield, three layered triangular forms converge to represent the organization’s pillars of prevention, protection, and promotion.
The colour strategy also draws from the Grand River, reflecting the communities it connects, the surrounding landscape, and the emotional resonance of public health services. The brand language provides guidance and consistency across all communications, helping GEPH speak with one clear, unified voice.

Outcome
(03)
GEPH launched its new brand positioning, Determined defenders of community health, along with its visual identity.
Haft2 supported the launch with a comprehensive brand standards guide, brand materials, and the development of the new GEPH website. We partnered with Pink Robot to develop the website backend, scheduled to launch June 2026.
The rollout of the new brand has gone well, with a very positive response from the community, staff, partners, and the public.
