Haft2 was elated when Miami City Ballet (MCB) reached out for the fourth year in a row for creative direction for the 2022/23 Season photoshoot and design of the 2022/23 Season Renewal Brochure.
We needed to create a bold, evocative, and modern brochure to reflect the risks the ballet is taking with their 2022/23 season as they feature company and world premieres. The design also needed to be flexible for use in print, digital and environmental applications.
Solution
Haft2 recommended that, after two years of distancing, it was only fitting to celebrate the diverse types of love and connection that exist: from forbidden love to unconditional love, this season will emotionally transport and inspire you.
Combining neutral and airy outfits with historic and iconic Miami locations proved the ultimate framing for images that perfectly captured the romantic and modern feeling that MCB sought.
Haft2 had the pleasure of working with world-renowned photographer Gary James again. Now in the third year of working together, it is clear the deep understanding and appreciation Gary has of the MCB; his profound ability to capture the dancers brings to light the intimate moments in dance.
The design also needed to be flexible for use in print, digital and environmental applications.
Results
The prior season was such an anomaly with a truncated and off-cycle schedule, demand for the 2022-23 Season subscriptions exceeded expectations. Individual tickets sales also increased over the previous season.
