SAFEKIDS CANADA
SafeKids was founded in 1992 by Dr. David Wesson, a surgeon at The Hospital for Sick Children who realized that many of his medical cases were caused by incidents that were both predictable and preventable.
As part of SafeKids Worldwide – a global network of 450 coalitions in 16 countries – SafeKids Canada promotes effective strategies to prevent unintentional injuries to children.
The requirement was to create a bilingual identity – English and French – in order to serve all Canadians. It needed to be dynamic and engaging, and had to be able to work with sponsor logos as well as connect with the parent brand, SafeKids International.
We designed a logo in a two-colour application to be the most cost effective. Finally, the colours of the logo had to demonstrate a synergy with SickKids Hospital, and speak to the very essence of safety.
