Lithe Little Bird

As we search for cleaner ways to make us go faster, it's nice to be reminded of the basics once in a while. British engineer Richard Jenkins just broke the speed record for a vehicle powered solely by wind, clocking in at almost 203 km/h. This little bird's design enables it to travel at between three and five times the speed of the wind propelling it. If you’re extra lucky this holiday season, you just may be invited to a yuletide party at Openhouse in New York’s SoHo nabe. This plain but beautiful white room is billed as a socially aware event space for any artist, event, product, brand or concept that promotes environmental sustainability. They even put their money where their mouth is – 5% of the proceeds generated by a booking is allocated to the socially responsible organization of the booker’s choice. That would truly be an event you could feel good about.
